The church is like a body – it has one identity, but many parts; all different and yet all dependent upon each other, interconnected and yet intimate. (To find out more about this, check out: 1 Corinthians 12:12-27). And like a body, the church is at it’s healthiest when all parts are doing their job well. The Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit gives different gifts to different people in order for the church to grow and to thrive in it’s mission.
Overseeing all of this God has given the gift of leadership (Romans 12:8). At Bethel we prayerfully seek to appoint Elders and Deacons to recognise this important and precious calling. Part of this role means to oversee, support and encourage the work of the five Mission and Ministry Teams. Please do pray for them in this – thank God for them, for their willingness to serve in this way and the time and love they pour into the work of the Kingdom through the church!
